Veterinarian
Dr. Halligan was the director of veterinary services for the spcaLA for over twelve years and is an expert in animal cruelty, having prepared in excess of over one hundred cases for trial as well as testifying as an expert witness. Additionally, she has presented lectures to law enforcement on the successful use of forensics in animal cruelty prosecution. A native of San Diego, Calif., she double-majored in theater and zoology while performing in animal shows at the San Diego Zoo. In 1989, after graduating from the University of California, Davis, Doc became acutely aware of the tremendous pet overpopulation problem and seeking to give a voice to animals and help pet parents everywhere, she moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and began to passionately lobby on animal- welfare issues. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, The Association of Shelter Veterinarians, and The American Veterinary Law Association. She practices general medicine and surgery at Marina Veterinary Center in Westchester and shares her life in Marina Del Rey with Ricky and Ethel, two very spoiled and healthy cats! Dr. Holly Jordan joined MVC in June 2021 She was born and raised in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University majoring in Animal Sciences. After completing her undergraduate degree, she enrolled at Western University earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2017. Dr. Jordan believes in a personalized approach with each patient and owner in order to form a support team that can achieve the highest quality of life possible for each patient. She has been a general practitioner in Pacific Palisades and the Westside ever since. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, biking, volunteering for rescue groups, and traveling.
